Grants and in-kind grants of books to USA and territories PreK-12 teachers to help build their classroom libraries. Funding is intended to increase the accessibility of quality books to as many children as possible by bringing books into classroom libraries.

These funds are provided to the individual teacher and not the school and are to be used only for the purchase of books for the winning teacher’s classroom library. In addition, the winning teachers will receive Scholastic Book Clubs Bonus Points to be used toward books for their classrooms.

Number of Grants:

4,000 Teachers (with 4 or more years of teaching experience). 500 New Teachers (with 0 to 3 years of teaching experience).

Estimated Size of Grant:

- Teachers will be entered to win $250 and 250 Bonus Points.
- New Teachers will be entered to win $500 and 500 Bonus Points.

Term of Contract:

Any prize not claimed by December 31, 2019, will be forfeited.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Patterson Partnership 2019 (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to legal residents of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, and US territories who are currently teaching in a US school in any grade from PreK through 12 (“participants” or “entrants”). Do not participate in the sweepstakes if you are not a legal US resident 18 years of age or older.

Employees, officers, and directors of Scholastic Book Clubs, Inc. (“Sponsor”), its affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotional agencies, suppliers of promotional materials and services, and any other entity engaged in any way in the development, production, printing, distribution, or execution of the Sweepstakes, including but not limited to James Patterson, JBP Business, LLC, Hachette Book Group, Inc. and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, advertising and promotion agencies, manufacturers or distributors of Sweepstakes materials (collectively “Related Entities”), and members of the immediate family or household of such individuals are not eligible.

Timeline:
- The Sweepstakes Period will start 4/2/19 at 9:00 a.m. ET and end 7/31/19 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
- Drawing will be conducted by Sponsor on or about August 2, 2019.
- Sponsor will announce all the winners on or about September 5, 2019, on the website. Sponsor will contact winners via direct email and via a mailed notification letter.

Winners may have funds deposited directly into their Scholastic Book Clubs account, or they can have a check sent directly to them. If the winners prefer a check, they will be required to complete a W-9 form.
