Grant Description

Grants to Alabama and Georgia nonprofit organizations and schools in the funding source's service area to benefit local residents. Funding is intended for initiatives to improve the quality of life for residents and to enhance the educational experience for PreK-12 students. The Diverse Power service area includes the Georgia counties of Troup, Harris, Heard, Meriwether, Muscogee, Coweta, Quitman, Randolph, Clay, Calhoun, and parts of Early, Stewart, and Terrell; and Chambers County, Alabama.

Two categories of grants are offered:

Community Grants:

Diverse Power Foundation community grants support not-for-profit organizations that enhance the quality of life for residents of counties served by Diverse Power. The Foundation encourages grant requests for projects that offering programming or experiences that enrich the individual and strengthen the community at-large.

Educational Grants:

The Diverse Power Foundation Educational Fund supports educational projects in grades Pre-K-12 in Diverse Power service area schools. Preference is given to projects that significantly enhance the educational experience of students. The Foundation encourages educational grant requests for projects that show innovation in education, support the curriculum through creative application of teaching skills, or supplement the curriculum by providing students with key life skills, and for specialized equipment or supplies to support classroom-learning activities.

Community Grants: The Foundation also awards community grants to not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations that provide quality programs or services to residents living in communities served by Diverse Power.

Community grant funds cannot be used for any salaries or fees.

School Grants: The Diverse Power Foundation Educational Fund supports educational projects in grades Pre-K-12 in Diverse Power service area schools.

School grant funds cannot be used for any type of administration compensation.

Timeline:
- Applications will be available on October 1, 2022
- Applications must be received by January 27, 2023
- The Foundation will announce its selections by April 22, 2023

Term of Contract:

Grant recipients are required to make their approved purchase and requisition grant funds by March 31st of the year following the year in which the grant is awarded.
